All news- Customs Posts Open at Nine Points of Entry from 7 September
Customs officers take up duty at six boundary crossings, two aerodromes and the postal depot between Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 September 2026. Travellers with goods to declare use the red channel; commercial consignments are cleared at Westbrook Freight Gate and Southbank Quay.
- Common Tariff and Travellers' Allowances Published
A single tariff of five bands applies to goods entering the Network from 7 September 2026. Travellers may bring in goods worth up to 600 credits without duty, together with fixed quantities of alcohol and tobacco.
- Trader Registration Opens and Six Approved Warehouses Designated
Businesses importing or exporting commercial consignments may apply for a Trader Registration Number from today. Six approved warehouses at the Westbrook Distribution Site and Southbank Quay hold goods with duty suspended, and duty deferment accounts open on 1 October 2026.
About the Customs Service
The Customs Service of the Velocity Interoperability Network is responsible for the declaration of goods entering and leaving the Network, for the assessment and collection of customs duty and excise under the Common Tariff, and for the control of prohibited and restricted goods at the boundaries of the Velocity Interoperability Network.
It staffs nine customs posts at the crossings, aerodromes and the postal depot, registers the traders who move goods commercially, approves the warehouses in which goods are held with duty suspended, and publishes the tariff and allowances that apply to every traveller and every consignment.
