Press Release
Customs Service of the Velocity Interoperability Network Established
Office of the Spokesperson

The Customs Service of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Service is responsible for the declaration of goods entering and leaving the Network, for the assessment and collection of customs duty and excise under the Common Tariff, and for the control of prohibited and restricted goods at the boundaries of the Network.
With its establishment complete, the Service today launches its official website at customs.gov.vin. The site carries the Common Tariff and the travellers' allowances, the procedures for lodging a declaration, the lists of prohibited and restricted goods, the register of customs posts and the arrangements for registered traders, together with press releases and official statements.
The Service replaces the separate customs arrangements that member organisations applied at their own boundaries. From Monday 7 September 2026 a single tariff and a single set of allowances apply at every crossing, aerodrome and postal depot of the Network. The opening of the customs posts, the publication of the Common Tariff and the opening of trader registration are the subject of separate announcements published today. General enquiries may be sent to contact@customs.gov.vin.
